First exhibited at the 1934 Berlin Motor Show, it carried the factory designation W29. Distinguished from the 500 sedan by the "K" for Kompressor (German for supercharger), only fitted to these performance cars, it succeeded the Mercedes-Benz 380 introduced just the previous year. It offered both a larger, more powerful engine and more opulent coachwork to meet customers' demands for greater luxury and performance. The 500K used the same independent suspension as had been introduced on the 380, with a double wishbone front axle, double-joint swing axle at the rear, and separate wheel location, coil springs and damping, a world first. Consequently, it was a more comfortable and better handling car than Mercedes' previous S/SS/SSK generation of roadsters from the 1920s, and offered greater appeal to buyers, particularly the growing number of well-heeled female drivers of the time. The Franklin Mint is a private mint founded by Joseph Segel in 1964 in Wawa, Pennsylvania. The Franklin Mint sells coins, medals, jewelry, die-cast vehicles, dolls, sculpture and other collectibles. In 1983, after Warner Communications had purchased The Franklin Mint, the company entered the diecast vehicle market, starting with the 1935 Mercedes Benz 500K Roadster. Usually the cars were labeled as Franklin Mint Precision Models. In the following years, Franklin Mint produced more than 600 different issues of motorcycles, trucks, and tractors besides automobiles. In 1998, the mint started producing models of Duesenberg Coupé Simone, a fictitious luxury car allegedly made by Duesenberg in the late 1930s.Your shipment will arrive via USPS Priority Mail (1-4 business days), USPS Ground Advantage (2-5 business days) or UPS Ground (1-5 business days), after the 2-3 day processing time (upon paid purchase)Shipment(s) sent out of Lemon Grove, California, USAWE DO COMBINE-SHIP - ASK US FIRST BEFORE MAKING FINAL PAYMENT!Will be packed very well - READ OUR FEEDBACK!No Returns *USPS GROUND ADVANTAGE or UPS GROUND MAY BE 50% CHEAPER THAN SHOWN HERE - ASK US FIRST...
