Description: Listed Danish Artist Anker Landsberg* Signed, on lower right, this Magnificent Modern Industrial Farm Landscape. It is an Original Vintage/Antique Oil on Canvas, painted in a Modern Expressionist style that reminds us of WPA works of art. There is a label affixed to the stretcher that states the artist's name and dates the piece to 1934. That would make this piece quite early in his career. Depicted for us is an Industrial Farm scene with three figures working the field besides the new metal machinery. Brushstrokes are bold and beefy and color palette still has vibrancy. If the date is correct, he painted this during his time at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, which might explain the paint on the frame. It looks like he did some work, mostly on the right side, to the painting after it was framed - students?!?! - as the paint seems to match. As his career progressed, his style, as well, as his signature evolved.Canvas measures 25 5/8 X 33 1/2 (65 X 85 cm) and is in Good Vintage/Antique condition.Outside measure of the frame is 29 X 37 and is in Fair condition w/ some scuffs and corner separation (as well as the paint mentioned above).Please carefully examine all images for condition. *(Niels) Anker Landberg (1916-1973) He was the son of the master painters Ejnar Landberg and Hedvig Hansen. Landberg studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen 1933-1936 and during a study trip to Italy in 1935. He was active in Skalhamn 1954-1955 where he studied and painted of the Swedish west coast nature. He exhibited his Swedish production separately at the Old Town Hall in Lysekil in 1955. In Denmark, he exhibited separately several times and he participated in a large number of group exhibitions.
