Description: Unknown, IllegibleSnow Scene - winter landscapecirca 1930'soil on board12" x 16"16 1/2" x 20 1/2" original period frame Beautiful American impressionist winter scene by an artist I have been unable to identify. Signed illegibly lower right. First name is Paul, Paula, Paolo M...? H...? (Hillbrand?) but last name eludes me. Without a doubt, a professional listed artist and someone may well recognize the hand. The painting has a wonderful peaceful and contemplative feeling about it, as one gets in nature after a fresh fallen snow. In original ~1930's era frame, painting itself is in excellent condition. Frame is rock solid and quite substantial with just a few scuffs or blemishes as one would expect of something this age. Came from a California collection that included some very high end works. This piece, along with others, was acquired from John Garzoli of Garzoli Galleries (San Francisco and later San Rafael) back in the 1980s. Owner was neighbors/friends with John when he was in San Francisco. Ready to hang and to bring you years of enjoyment. I suspect someone in the ebay world will recognize the artist or name but my price reflects what I feel is a very fair value for an unknown artist. Painting will be packaged carefully and shipped either ground Fed Ex, UPS, USPS depending upon location. Please ask if any questions and be sure to check out my other auctions.
