Description: 1930s wedding gown is sublime ivory satin with elegant piecing and details, and a glorious formal train. This satin bridal dress is authentic to the mid 30s, originally worn for a Connecticut wedding. It has a soft square neckline with a dramatic circular collar, top stitched in many parallel rows. The torso has an invert-V waist, matching chevron piecing at the long sleeves with their V-point wrists. Bust is bias cut. The gorgeous skirt has two godet pleats front and back in a chevron style design, flaring into a train that trails about 3 feet behind the bride. The original owner's daughter has let me know that this gown was made by Minnie Grady, the premier dressmaker at the time in New Haven, CT.
