1930s EYE GLASSES Bread Card TOY Butter Nut BREAD Die Cut

Description: This fantastic die-cut series of toy eye glasses are a bit of a mystery to me. I have not found them in any guide I am aware of (American Card Catalogue, Non-Sports Bible, Non-Sports Price Guide ect.). It mentions the brand Butter-Nut Bread which was a brand name used by several different Bakeries in the United States during the 1920’s and 30s. Because of that i have always assumed that this series was issued sometime during the 1930’s as the Font used on the back is the same as used on some series of cards that have been identified as being from the 1930’s I do not know how many are in the series but I have seen several different design variations of the eye glasses. Each toy/card features a a different set of eye glasses, with humorous eye design in each, that could be worn by a child. The back provides advertising for the bread. There are at least 3 different variations of the back for this series that I know of. The Card measures 4 inches by 1 ½ inches approximately. It does have a couple of light creases. Other than that it displays very well. I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself. This is a scarce series. Bread cards are one of the last properly cataloged frontiers of card collecting. With such fantastic art work, diversity of series, and the fact that they are scarce, bread cards are a great collectable that are bound to increase in popularity as time goes on. This would make an excellent display piece. It would look fantastic if framed and hung.
