Rare Flexible 9" translucent TRI ERGON COLORIT RECORD made in AustriaSince Tri-Ergon had their master recordings on film stock, it was straighforward to create records of different sizes by slow speed transfer. The translucent material is either early vinyl or a cellulose Acetate compound.(Catalog number are for the German issue, the Austrian issue only shows the matrix number.)Colorit 3007-A Hoch Heidecksburg Hoch Heidecksburg MarschAuthors:Rudolf Herzer, Hermann Ludwig Blankenburg, Matrix 0880-m15227-B Armeemarsch III Nr. 70 Schwedischer ReiterMarsch / Marsch der Finnländischen Reiterei Bearbeitung: Hackenberger Matrix 01291Blas-Orchester des Obermusikmeisters a.D. Adolf BeckerAufn. [Berlin-Marienfelde, ca. Anfang Januar 1928]. Here a rare Tri-Ergon Photo Electro recordsThe Tri-Ergon system ( Created mainly to add sound to motion picture films), for 78 rmp discs, consisted in record the original sound on film with the first practical system made for this purpose. The sound rercorded on film (optical systen) in the early days allows to record a range of 50-8,000/10,000 cycles per second. Better than electric recording on 78 rpm wax or acetate discs. After developing the film exposed with the sound recorded , a photo cell captures the recorded waves ( running the film many times slower than the original speed). The system worked this way becouse of the "memory" or inertia of the early photocells. This way a highest cualithy 78 rpm record can be obtained. Orig Issue TRI-ERGON COLORIT sound-on-film flexible translucent 9" 78 rpm recordCONDITION: EXCELLENT MINUS, unworn but somewhat wavy. Two tiny rim bites: one does not touch grooves, the second one 1mm into grooves causes 2 clicks. Record plays through if you put about 10 grams of weight on the tonearm, plays E Exceptionally quiet great soundA great COPY Tri-Ergon recordsThe flexible Bellaphon and Colorit discs were mainly marketed in Austria, but - apart from a few masters obtained from the US - used exclusively Tri-Ergon regular masters, no original recordings.A handful of original Tri-Ergon masters have never been issued by Tri-Ergon, but on Christschall and Sonora.Bernard Etté in 1938A subsidiary, Tri-Ergon Musik AG of Berlin, made commercial phonograph records for the German, French, Swedish and Danish markets from about 1928 to 1932. The records were advertised and sold as "Tri-Ergon Photo-Electro-Records [de]".[57][58]The company released records of popular jazz and dance bands, and classical music. The Hungarian dance band leader Géza Komor [de] made numerous records under both his own name and under the pseudonym of 'Harry Jackson'; other recording artists included Bernard Etté, and Friedrich Hollaender with the New Yorkers dance orchestra (e.g. "It's a Million to One You're in Love", TE 5137).[59][60]Classical artists included the conductor and pianist Bruno Seidler-Winkler (who later made arrangements for the Comedian Harmonists) and the Tri-Ergon-Trio consisting of the cellist Gregor Piatigorsky, the pianist Karol Szreter, and the violinist Max Rostal.[61]Recording processThe Tri-Ergon records were made by a partial reversal of the photoelectric process used to encode the sound track in the first place. Quick note on grading: The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise."EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing."VERY QUIET" is an above average quiet record for a given pressing."Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise. These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment. Multiple item shipping: I am happy to combine items for shipment in one parcel.
