Description: Lovely Copy of Tom Cringle’s Log by Michael Scott. Published by Dodd, Mead and Company – 1927. 384 Pages. This Naval Adventure on the High Seas is beautifully Illustrated with 7 Full-Page Color Plates, Paste-On Color Plate and Endpapers by Mead Schaeffer (who also illustrated Moby-Dick and Typee by Herman Melville, Les Misérables, Three Musketeers and Count of Monte Carlo and was featured in many leading Magazines such as Saturday Evening Post. Schaeffer was a close Friend of with Norman Rockwell and he and his family often posed for Rockwell’s Saturday Evening Post Illustrations). The Book is in very good condition. Clean, tight binding, minor wear to cover. Paste-On Color Illustration on front cover views beautifully. The Deckled Page edges show a bit of age browning and there is some age foxing to the Pages opposite the Color Illustrations due to the acidic paper used. Also, some mild deterioration to the cover surface along the joints. Still a fine book!
