Book is still wrapped in its original onion paper and housed in its original box. Comes with a letter written in 1975 as to how the original owner came into possession of this copy. This copy, I am sure, has never been read.Detailed information and wonderful photographs of Eastman's hunting trip in Africa, on which he was accompanied by Martin and Osa Johnson. A photo-journal of his African Safari, with excellent photographs by George Eastman, Pomeroy, Stewart, and photos in last section by Martin Johnson who with his wife Osa and the Akeleys accompanied Eastman on the trip. Endpapers decorated with charts of the route of the Safari, which went north from Nairobi to Lake Paradise near Marsabit, and south to the Gurumetti River in Tanganyika. The first edition of this work. George Eastman's account of a voyage to Africa, a hunting trip recounted through a series of letters written by Eastman during the expedition. He was accompanied on this trip by Osa Johnson. Eastman was a noted entrepreneur who founded the Eastman Kodak company, bringing the photographic use of roll film into the mainstream. On the second leg of his journey, Eastman and his party traveled to the Gurumeti and Meru rivers of Tanganyika where they hunted buffalo, lion and rhinoceros. Boards are straight and clean with good corners. Little to no wear to the boards along the edges, corners and at the top/bottom of the spine panel. Little to no wear to the front/rear board panels as well as along the spine panel. Book is still wrapped in its original onion paper wrap and is in its original box. The copy appears to be fully unread. There are no other marks, tears, bookplates or writing in these books. Please review all photos for your best idea of condition.
