After three years of investigation it has been announced that Sir Oliver Lodge has perfected a method of preventing the "howl" in radio receiving sets. It is said that Sir Oliver has dispensed entirely with the tuned radio and thus abolished the howl. The value of the invention to American receiving sets depends upon the extent it can applied to the regenerative sets that are used here.
