The third volume contains the errata for the first two volumes. The entire work was later revised and enlarged in the 1970s. With 275 full page plates and numerous illustrations in the text. A clean and attractive set of this important art reference. Scarce in the three volumes. Colonel Maurice Harold Grant was an soldier, art collector and author. He was renowned as a scholar who owned extensive collections of British landscapes, and wrote widely on the subject. CONDITION In green cloth bindings. Externally, very smart with just some wear to extremities and handling marks to boards. Heavier wear to volume one. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean with some occasional spotting.
