Description: This is a vintage Acrylic Resin round paperweight with flat bottom and a rounded top. I recently acquired this piece from the Alaska Mint located in Anchorage, Alaska. They have been in business producing medallions and customized coin / gold nugget jewelry since the mid 1960s. They have the equipment to create very fancy pieces containing items of your choice. Acrylic resin was a fairly new product in the 1960s. The original owner, born 1925, was an amateur and produced blocks while refining his craft. Today, the new pieces are perfect and gorgeous. But this old piece has been in the store forever. Today's Management suspects that it was one of the original Acrylic Resin pieces created by the original Owner and the coin was selected to match his birth year. It definitely has imperfections both human made and environmentally produced. The block's resin is a tad blurry with unequal yellowing while the circulated silver 1925 Peace Dollar also depicts environmentally produced yellowing and unequal toning. This is an interesting piece with a nice story behind it. Yes, I can combine purchases to save on postage. Ships USPS Ground Advantage with Tracking and Insurance to US address.
