Description: 1921 Map "Medieval Rome" 14.5x10.75" By Nystrom - Old Wall Map Inset Offered here is the over-century-old large wall map shown. It is titled "Exploration and Partition of Africa". This lone sheet is divided into two sections, half showing exploration and early colonization of Africa to 1884, and secondly, Africa in 1921. Map insets are devoted to the Boer Republics to 1902 and Africa in 1914. The total sheet measures roughly 37.5x48.5". Map publisher was A.J. Nystrom and Company of Chicago. The maps are attributed to Dr. Hutton Webster, Dr. Daniel C. Knowlton and Dr. Charles Downer Hazen. This map was once part of a multi-map hanging wall display. The display of the maps was changed by opening to the desired map, storing unused maps up and behind the display or under the featured map.
