Pennsylvania Military College (PMC) was a prominent military institution in Chester, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1821 as the Wilmington Literary Institute, it later became a military college in 1862. PMC played a significant role in preparing young men for military service and leadership roles, especially during World Wars I and II. In 1972, PMC transitioned into Widener College, now Widener University, and shifted away from its military focus. Though no longer a military school, PMC’s legacy remains a part of Widener’s history.
