Description: 1920's Harter NITRO-LITE 16" Ventilated Porcelain Industrial Green Vintage LightHarter Manufacturing Company was a high-end manufacturer of industrial lighting beginning the early 1900's. They must have been extremely expensive or they didn't make many lights as I've only seen a handful. (I will be listing some black ones shortly). Ultra-rare is not a term I toss around lightly but this light does seem to qualify. Notice the ventilation slots near the top that allow heat to escape. A soft glow of light is also emitted under the refinished embossed black cast-iron top, so wonderful to see in person. The original mogul-base socket is in excellent condition. It will actually adjust up or down to raise or lower the bulb in the shade. I'm including a removeable Benjamin copper reducer so the light will utilized standard medium base household bulbs. The shade is 16" in diameter. Perfect for restaurants, homes, barns and garages. The original down-rod is 6" long. Other rod lengths available for the asking are 3" and 12" but may be newer. The diameter of the shade is 16 inches. From the bottom of the shade to the point that the down-rod screws in is almost 11". The complete light is 18" tall. The original swivel hanger allows the lights to hang plumb, (vertical) even if your ceiling is not level, (horizontal) and also allows the lights to resist damage from accidental, (or purposeful), bumps and bruises.
