MANY OF THE MINERS AND SMELTER WORKERS HAD FAMILIES...CATALOG SHOWS "AMES & FOSTER SMOKE HOUSE" WAS A BILLIARD PARLOR THAT ALSO SOLD CIGARS...THIS TOKEN IS LISTED IN THE ARIZONA TOKEN CATALOG AS DOU-025 I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY TOUGH ONE TO FIND.....NICEST SPECIMEN I HAVE SEENDouglas is a historic town which around 1900s became important copper smelter town for Bisbee copper minings (Phelps Dodge, Calumet and Arizona, Copper Queen)...thus the "in copper we trust"...it also is a a border town, with a role in the Pancho Villa border skirmishes being right across from Agua Prieta Mexico The historic mining related town of Douglas is located in beautiful Cochise County, not far from Bisbee, Fort Huachuca and Tombstone Arizona Trade token is aluminum, rscalloped, about 29mm in diameter, and it displays well (please see pictures in gallery) Nice un-dug specimen.
