Inked in top margin of photo in a contemporaneous hand: "Made at Washington & Lee University 1918." Washington & Lee University is located in Lexington Virginia. Inked at bottom corner of photo in another contemporaneous hand is the word "Dignity" followed by an initial. Mount measures 4 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches. Image area is SLIGHTLY smaller. Removed from an album page with remains on verso, otherwise FINE . . . . . . . Remember that the Abraham Lincoln Penny is not attached to the item.
