Description: 1918-1920s 1st National Bank RPPC and checkbook The Dalles Oregon Wasco County. The card has a cool postal cancel stamp stating Food will win the war, don't waste it. 7 bar red 2 cent Washington. In the note they mention Libbys Co. set up there for canning and packging. Along with the card I am including a really nice First National Bank check book with a couple of cancelled checks. William Kelly had the book and I found him on Findagrave but it can't be him as he died young in 1918. The paperwork is 1928-29. Payment to wasco county sheriffs for taxes and to the bank itself as Irish Exchange. I assume they came from Ireland and were still exchanging money for US. One check filled out to Stadlemans hardware. And to McCoy Motor Car Co. The owner was Paul O McCoy died 1930 at age 41. Just a nice little collection as a group of items. UPDATE: No one told me I forgot the checkbook photos LOL now are up 12/7 No X's on original I do combine shipping, So look around My shipping is reasonable for ground advantage packages. Anything that cannot be bent or twisted USPS will charge you a package rate, and it is more in person retail at the post office. If the envelope is rigid & non bendable it gets billed a package rate.
