This card is from the 'Bordered' Kromo Gravure set. And Olive wasn't included in the 'Rounded Corners' and 'Borderless' sets so this is the only Kromo Gravure card of her ever issued.Olive Thomas was an icon and one of the great beauties of the silent film era. She died tragically of an accidental poisoning in 1920 at the age of 25, just as her career was peaking. I believe this to be Olive's first known card, or "rookie" card. She is one of four different versions of the 8 of Clubs in the MJ Moriarty Movie Souvenir playing card deck that was first issued in 1916, but that deck ran from 1916 until 1919 or 1920, and she was not issued as the 8 of Clubs until the very end of that run.
