Description: The specimen in this listing is Holbrook LL6 meteorite, weighs .16 gram and is 6 X 5 X 4 mm in size. It will come as pictured in a display box and with a specimen / certificate of authenticity from the Kansas Meteorite Society. On July 19, 1912, the quiet of Holbrook, Arizona was interrupted at approximately 19:15h local time, by several explosions in rapid succession. The meteor passed in a due east path over the town and it was actually seen by one witness to explode about a mile or two in the air and it is now estimated that about 14,000 - 16,000 pea sized stones pelted the ground arround the section house located at the Aztec Rail Yard, six miles east of Holbrook. The reverse side has a copy of the iconic illustration "Hail of Stones" as printed in the October 6, 1946 edition of the Italian newspaper La Domenica Del Corriere which was well know for its sensationalistic illustrations of natural events. Holbrook L/LL6(9); Navajo Co.,Arizona USA; 1912 July 19, 19:15h; 400+kg. You also get a Specimen COA Card from Thetoprok.
