Description: New Custom made tool for replacing the mainspring with ease on a 1911 pistol and clones. Constructed of high quality acrylic. Included is a tool to remove the mainspring retainer pin if it is stuck due to dirt. Mainspring Housing not included. This is the easiest and safest way to remove or replace the mainspring. Just lift the knob, slide the mainspring housing UPSIDE DOWN into the tool, lower the knob, twist the knob (clockwise) till the pin at the end of the knob touches the mainspring housing, then twist the knob ONE FULL TURN and the retainer pin should be free, turn the Mainspring Housing Compressor Tool UPSIDE DOWN so that the retainer pin can fall out, then turn the tool RIGHT SIDE UP , twist the knob COUNTER CLOCKWISE till the knob pin clears the housing, raise the knob and remove the housing with the spring. There is a retainer pin hole in the tool so that you can see when the spring has passed the retainer pin hole when you are putting the spring and it's parts back into the housing. NO ACCIDENTS, NO LOST SPRING or PARTS. Will replace if received defective on arrival.
