Description: This is a spiral-bound, 40-page (8 1/2" x 11") reference guide written and produced by the author, a longtime collector of Brass Craft. Brass Craft is decorative metal-ware from the 1910 Arts & Crafts period that was sold to the American public in the form of kits. These handmade objects ranged from candle and lamp shades to boxes, photo frames, trays, wall panels and desk accessories. This reference also includes a price guide by product type. Included are about 100 photos of original Brass Craft pieces that appear in this very rare catalog (16 pages) produced by Thayer & Chandler in 1910 and copyrighted by F.H. Deknatel. Deknatel was closely associated with the famous Hull House Settlement in Chicago that was the epicenter of the Chicago Arts & Crafts Movement (see photos for more information on Deknatel and the Hull House Boys Club). If you have bought any of my previous catalogs on Brass Craft please note there are minimal photo duplications in this reference guide. A final note: I am currently preparing an updated and greatly expanded version of my 2017 catalog entitled Pierced Brass Candle and Lamp Shades. If you have a shade you think belongs (big, beautiful, bejeweled?) in this definitive upcoming catalog please contact me soon with photos. See my last photo for contact information.
