Unlike the conventional cardboard baseball cards, the S74 set consisted of small silk pieces distributed inside tobacco products from Helmar, Old Mill, Red Sun, and Turkey Red. The silks showcase images of baseball players, actresses, and various personalities beyond the sports realm. The baseball player images on these silks closely resemble those found in the T205 tobacco card set or the end panels from the T202 Hassan Triple Folders set. Delicate in nature and initially intended to be sewn into blankets or pillows, many of these silks have not endured the passage of time since their original release. They come in two different types: some printed on white silk (sometimes referred to as S74-1) and others on colored silk pieces (S74-2). These silks typically measure around 2 inches in width by 3 inches in height, although their sizes may vary significantly due to irregular cutting. On the Player - John Joseph "Red" Murray (1884–1958) was an MLB outfielder who played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1906–1908), New York Giants (1909–1915, 1917), and Chicago Cubs (1915). Born in Arnot, Pennsylvania, Murray's father, William, was a coal miner from Edinburgh, Scotland. In his youth, Murray excelled in football, basketball, and baseball, ultimately choosing baseball as his career. Known in early baseball as one of the greatest outfielders in the National League, Murray was a quintessential "five-tool" player. He led the National League in home runs in 1909 and over his career, he produced 15.9 WAR, with a batting line of .270/.323/.379.
