Text is clean and free of marks, binding tight and solid, boards clean with no wear present. Features a selection of autochromes reproduced in color by: J. Craig Annan, Alvin Langdon Coburn, Frank Eugene, Heinrich Kühn, Baron Adolph De Meyer, David Octavius Hill, Gertrude Käsebier, Clarence White. The introduction of colour into photography "immediately and profoundly changes the character of the issues involved". These are issues of aesthetics: can the colour photographer lay any claim to "serious artistic regard".
