Edmund Dulac (illustrator). A very smart, beautifully illustrated edition of these stories from the famous 'Arabian Nights'. Compiled and edited by Laurence Housman, with illustrations by Edmund Dulac, complete with fifty tipped in colour plates, interspersed in the stories by noted French-born, English naturalised magazine illustrator and stamp designer. A very bright copy of these famous tales. Illustrated by an important figure during the Golden Age of illustration. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Condition: A Very nice copy. The boards of the book are in very good condition just some moderate wear commiserate with age. Slight crease to upper left corner. Externally, very smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Front hinge is slightly strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Inscription to FFEP. Pages are darkened/ age toned. Very Good Indeed Our Opinion: Enchanting Book superbly illustrated by Dulac. Thus this book can be said to have launched Dulac's career as one of the most respected artists of the Golden Age of Illustration.
