1905 to 1911 Early Auto Club Travel Touring Guide Ford Buick Cadillac Studebaker

Description: Authentic and rare edition #4 of an early Road Atlas.....the Middle West States "Blue Book" Up for consideration is this Original 1911 edition of the A.B.B.P. Automobile Blue Book, Vol 4 - Middle West States (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky) published by the Automobile Blue Books Publishing Co (copyright 1911). This 1120 page soft leather bound book is profusely illustrated with maps, photographs, driving routes, and is in overall Fair shape, pages in Excellent form, the covers very worn. The Blue Books started in 1901, eventually covered the whole of the United States and Southern Canada in 11 volumes, (only 4 volumes in 1911) and was one of the precursors to the AAA, to serve its Blue Book Touring members, who were a new breed of adventurers and explorers....the American Motorist. As is now with the American Automobile Association (AAA), the Blue Book Touring Bureau provided benefits like Free Garage Service, Legal Defense (for speed traps which were very common in small towns that needed money), Property Damage Suits (insurance), Touring Information, and Official magazine. Imagine heading down the roads in 1910 or 1911 in your motor vehicle, the ones of that era like: Ambassador, American, Anderson, Apperson 8, Auburn, Beggs, Biddle, Brewster, Buick, Cadillac, Case, Claimers, Chalmers, Champion, Chandler, Chevrolet, Cleveland, Climber, Cole, Columbia, Comet, Crawford, Crew-Elkhart, Cunningham, Daniels, Davis, Dixie Flyer, Dodge Bros., Derris, Dort, Driggs, Duesenberg, DuPont, Durant, Earl, Elcar, Elgin, Essex, Falcon, Ferris, Franklin Frontenac, Gardner, Grant, Goodspeed, H.C.S., Handley Knight, Hanson, Hatfield, Haynes, Holmes, Hudson, Hupmobile, Jackson, Jordan, King, Kissel, Kline Kar, Kurtz, Lafayette, Leach, Lexington, Liberty, Lincoln, Locomobile, Maibohn, Marmon, Maxwell, Macfarlan, Mercer, Merit, Meteor, Mitchell, Murray-Mac, Nash, National, Noma, Norwalk, Oakland, Ogren 6, Oldsmobile, Overland, Packard, Paige, Pan American, Parenti, Paterson, Peerless, Piedmont, Pierce Arrow, Pilot, Porter, Premier, Raleigh, Ranger, RV Knight, REO, ReVere, Rickenbaker, Roamer, Rock Falls, Rolls Royce, Saxon, Sayers, Seneca, Standard 8, Stanwood, Stearns Knight, Stevens, Stevens Duryea, Studebaker, Stutz, Templer, Tulsa, Velie, Vogue, Westcott, Wills St. Claire, Willys Knight, Winther 6, and Winton 6 This great old manual is chalk full of illustrations, maps, pictures, and page after page of detailed information on the roads of America. It is truly nostalgic to see the photos of old hotels and resorts, some still standing today! Wouldn't it be great to take this Road Atlas along on a trip today and go over the same routes as those early auto pioneers? The table of contents shows that this Blue Book has a general index ..."to all cities/ towns, accommodations, City Maps, and Points of Interest, through which the various routes pass." If you have an old classic car from 1905 to 1911, or if you are an avid collector of auto literature, you will find this book a real treasure. If you love old advertisements and maps, this is one for your library. Again, this rare Volume #4 book is in Fair shape, pages in Excellent form, the covers very worn.
