Description: This book is a rare find for any poetry enthusiast. The 1905 edition of "One Hundred Best American Poems" selected by John R. Howard and published by Thomas Y. Crowell Co. in New York. The book includes the poem The Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key, The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas ("A Visit from St. Nicholas") by Clement Clarke Moore, as well as selections from many others, like William Cullen Bryant, Emily Dickinson, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Walt Whitman, and others. I've included photos of the entire Table of Contents. This book is in fantastic condition for its age. Binding is solid, minimal bending/fading of spine, slight bends on cover corners, and pages are slightly beige/yellowed. The only damaged page is the photo of Longfellow, which now has a 1/4" tear at the spine at the bottom of the page - it just happened as I was flipping pages (this page was slightly glued to the next).
