Description: This is a sepia carte de visite or CDV photograph of a darling little child in a fancy dress, high button shoes and a cute hat. During this period both little boys and little girls often wore dresses and I am not sure whether this child is a girl or boy! He or she has a quizzical look on his or her face and is holding what might be a teether. The baby looks to be about one year old. The photographer was Sonneberg of Thuringen (which I took to be Thuringia) Germany. It says 1903 on the mat but on the back there is penciled writing that appears to date it to 1904. I can't make out the words but expect that relate to the name of the child. The photo is in great condition. I will send it first class in a cardboard envelope with no tracking number unless you want to make other arrangements about shipping.
