Description: Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Chester and Delaware Counties, Pennsylvania edited by Gilbert Cope and Henry Graham Ashmead From 1904, a massive two-volume production, featuring biographies and genealogical information of some 1,700 prominent citizens of these counties to the west of Philadelphia; dates go back to the 1600s. The books are illustrated with hundreds of full-page plates and textual photos. These books lack the original covers and were rebound in sturdy buckram at some time in the last few years. The covers show light handling; volume 2 is a little bumped at the top corners, with some affect to the text. The texts are otherwise in very nice condition, with minor signs of age and handling but no significant defects. There is a light scattering of pencil marks which could be easily erased but may be of some interest. A sharp set, very rare in any condition, and never found at this low price. The books both measure 8.25" X 10.5", over 1,200 pages in all, plus the illustration plates. Ships promptly & securely.
