The area dates back to a temporary Roman occupation, and was occupied by the English forces during the Scottish War of Independence before being presented to Robert the Bruce.Typically Forfar is both a market town and a major manufacturing centre for linen and jute.Illustrated with a frontispiece, and in-text illustrations throughout.By Alan Reid.Bookplate of Colin Currie to the front paste down.One page of adverts to the rear. CONDITION In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light marks and a little rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the spine and extremities. Spine is a little discoloured. Hinges are starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few odd spots and handling marks.
