Description: Here for sale is a great primitive 18th century hide covered document box. Dates around the Rev war period, 1750s through the 1780s. Has a domed lid and its original lock and hasp. Has a nice tack design and initials in tacks on the top of the lid. It measures 14 inches across by 6 3/4 inches by 7 inches tall. Has slight loss of the hose on the backside, and obvious surface wear as expected from age and use. Similar examples can be seen in the Collectors Encyclopedia of the American Revolution by G Neumann. Buyer pays shipping.
