Description: This book is a sermon preached in the church of the mediator, Providence, Rhode Island on July 13, 1899 by Rev. Willard Selleck. Robert Ingersoll was born in upstate New York in 1833 to an abolitionist minister and his wife. He knew the Bible backward and forward but preferred the work of Shakespeare. Ingersoll objected to organized religion (agnostic), especially its obsession with damning non-believers to hell. He thought religion should be destroyed. As seen in the photos, there is staining to the pages and wear to the covers.
