Some tarnishing and marks on reverse and edges In 1896 Montgomery Ward was the first catalog retailer to feature an automobile, an electric car produced by the American Electric Vehicle Company. The electric runabout provided seating for four passengers and reached a top speed of 14 miles per hour. Montgomery Ward used the cars for promotional purposes only and didn't market them to consumers.
