ITEM DETAILS Title: The Land of Arthur; It’s Heroes and HeroinesAuthor: Marie Trevelyan Publisher: John Hogg, LondonPublication Date: 1895 Edition: First Edition Condition: Good ITEM DESCRIPTION Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on British mythology and folklore! A great find from a local New England estate! This scarce antique first edition is over 128 years old! Undated; first published in 1895 in London. First Edition. Ex-library. In great condition overall! Original publisher illustrated cloth binding shows some wear including soiling and rubbing, a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, some general wear around the extremities including light bumping to the corners and minor fraying to the spine extremes, and light soiling to the page edges. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! Gilt title lettering to the spine displays nicely from the shelf. Internally, this volume is in good shape overall, with both boards firmly attached to the binding and all page groupings secure. Tight and square! Ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers, as well as the tile page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions. The text block of this volume is exceptionally clean throughout. Although there is some typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as the odd spot of light foxing or soiling, some general corner creasing, and less than a handful of markings in pencil in the very back of the volume in the index, this volume is very clean throughout. Perfectly readable! Make sure to see the additional photographs in the description below for a thorough look through this antique first edition! 436 pages with more than 30 pages of publisher advertisements in back. Measures approximately 7 3/4 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches thick. A perfect addition to any fine collection or a wonderful gift for someone special!
