Fully titled, Commemorative Biographical Record of Washington County, Pennsylvania Containing Biographical Sketches of Prominent and Representative Citizens, and of many of the Early Settled Families. FIRST EDITION published in 1893 by J.H. Beers & Co. FULL LEATHER. The book was found with original boards and spine, but the boards were partially detached and the leather showed cracks at the spine. THE BOOK WAS PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED showing the original beauty of the leather boards. The attachment of the boards was solidified on the outside and side with tape in the binding cracks of the original floral endpapers. The leather was treated and sealed leaving a solid spine and a beautiful front cover with the decorative gilt titling. No similar binding repairs were necessary for the SOLIDLY BOUND TEXT BLOCK. 1486 pages, with BEAUTIFUL ENGRAVED PORTRAITS, a good number of which (but also less than half by my flip through estimate) were still tissue-protected.
