On Sale is a rare 1891 first edition of * "Let's Toss For It" or The Gambler's Career *, by Evelyn Everett Green, with a b&w frontispiece plus 7 other plates by uncredited artist or artists, published by James B. Knapp, London, [first published 1891], this one is dated 1891 to the title page with no other editions or impressions listed, size approximately 7-1/4 inches x 5 inch, with 218 pages. The floral decorated burgundy-colour cloth-covered hardcover with black title to the front and gilt spine title, is bumped on the extremities, very slightly rubbed on the spine-ends, sound and not split along the spine edges, gilt bright with both titles clearly legible, a slight hint of fading just to the spine (please ignore the light reflection in the photo's), has some marking mainly to the back, otherwise mostly clean and tidy (see photo's 1 & 6). Inside is complete apart from lacking the front free-endpaper (see photo 5, with just enough remaining to cover the webbing hinge), rear endpaper sound and not split, hinges sound with boards firmly attached, no writing or graffiti and no previous owner's name, binding a little stretched in a couple of places else mostly tight with all pages well attached, approximately six corners had been turned, pages not torn, half-title page and rear free-endpaper have some offsetting else generally not tanned, slightest foxing to the first couple of leaves else generally not foxed, a tiny amount of palest usage/age soiling, not heavily read, otherwise generally very clean and tidy.
