The novel is concerned with an improvised minister who is struggling with his rioting congregation of weavers.The work was written over fifteen years prior to the introduction of Barrie's most famous character, Peter Pan. CONDITION In the publisher's original cloth binding, housed in a cloth covered clamshell box. Back strips age toned, with bumping to back strip heads and tails. Volume I hinges strained and a touch tender, volume III hinges strained, with front board tender. Volume II hinges strained, and weakly held by cords only. Lacking front free endpaper of volume I. Slip case in very good condition, with handling marks to boards, and light fraying to joint heads. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright.
