Description: A nice old autograph book owned by Annie Ida Miles, later Whitcomb; she died young at 33 in 1909 and is buried in Knowlton Cemetery in Newburgh. Signed by over 50 of her friends and acquaintances, most by far from Newburgh and several from Simpsons Corner & other single entries from Dixmont, Searsport, Monroe, Montville, and Chelsea, Massachusetts, among other places. Signed by her father, Dudley Miles; by Jabez Knowlton, who later opened a store in Newburgh that is an historical site today; Ida May Tinney, also later a Whitcomb; George P. Leavitt of Newburgh; Walter A. Trask, whom I believe was later an auctioneer in the Bangor/Hampden area; Gertrude Folsom, later Young; Walter Cram; Addie Mudgett; many more. Book is in good shape overall; a few creases here and there; a tear on one page; one entry appears to have been rewritten on separate paper and subsequently pasted in over the original one; covers show some wear, with rear cover being a little dented and scraped; reddish brown/wine colored leather or faux leather with flower pattern. kevindaleybooks Note: I try to identify any flaws in books as much as possible. Sometimes a photo will catch something that I hadn't noticed when making the listing--so it's good practice to look at the photographs as well as to read the listing. I want buyers to be pleased with what they buy! Thanks for looking
