Description: This is a vintage hardcover book titled "In Darkest Africa" by Henry M. Stanley, published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1890. It is a first edition and comes as a two-volume set with maps included. The book is a nonfiction narrative of Stanley's quest, rescue, and retreat of Emin Gover in Africa. I described the books as being in good condition. I would lean even a little better, but conservative is fine. There are some loose or split boards on volume one. The back board is the worst. Otherwise the spines are pretty tight. The gold leaf on the front and spines are bright. The corners Are slightly bumped. What is amazing is that the maps are still there. This is a great historical tool set that would look fantastic on any bookshelf. Don’t wait on this set! Please email me with any questions you may have.
