He served as the treasurer of the Pennsylvania Historical Society and his valuable library was auctioned after his death by Parke-Berner Galleries in March of 1962. These records were originally published as a supplement to Francis Wharton’s “Digest of the International Law of the U.S.” which was taken from documents issued by presidents and secretaries of state, etc. Also includes “A Brief sketch of the life of Francis Wharton, by John Bassett Moore”.
