Description: We are offering this Unique and Rare depiction of the Original 1885/6 oil painting, attributed to both Thomas Walter Wilson (1851-1912) and Frank Walton (1840-1923), who both Plate Signed the piece, on lower right. It is in a sketch-like style with important British Society members (as well as Royalty) identified with little red numbers that correlate to a list of 64 persons below. We believe it is an offset lithograph from 1929 (etched into backboard - see final image). The original painting depicts a panoramic group portrait of spectators, racehorse owners with wives and friends, outside the pavilion at Goodwood, Sussex. People depicted include The Prince of Wales and members of The Royal Family, some standing on the balcony of the pavilion. The Prince of Wales, who was the future King Edward VII, is there with his mistress, Lilly Langtry, who was a famous society actress, for whom Oscar Wilde wrote his famous play "Lady Windermere's Fan". Fascinating historical piece.1 1/2" Wide Natural Wood (oak?) angled Original Frame and glass are included in this listing.
