Description: THIS LATE VICTORIAN BISQUE FIGURAL VASE DEPICTS A GODDESS RIDING IN HER SHELL CARRIGE, PULLED BY A WINGED GRIFFIN. THE WOMAN'S HANDS AND THE GRIFFIN MOUTH HAVE HOLES FOR A RIBBON OR STRING REINS. PLEASE NOTE THE TWO PICS THAT LOOK LIKE CHIPS ON WING ENDS; HOWEVER, I BELIEVE IT WAS DONE AT FACTORY TO FIT GRIFFIN TO PIECE. IT IS MARKED WITH MID TO LATE 1880S IMPRESSED MARK FOR CARL SCHNEIDER, SEE PICS. 9"LONG, 3"WIDE BETWEEN WHEELS, 8 1/2"AT TALLEST TO BACK END OF SHELL. IT IS IN AS FOUND CONDITION WITH NO CRACKS OR REPAIRS. WING ENDS LOOK DAMAGED BUT I BELIEVE IT IS FACTORY. NO OTHER REAL FLAWS I COULD SEE. PAINT LOOKS ALL THERE WITH SOME MINOR RUBBING OF GOLD. MINOR OVERALL SURFACE DIRT AND WEAR FROM HANDLING.
