It appears that a small section was replaced. Whoever did it did a very fine job, and needs no further work. As of 10/31/2024 an ounce of gold is at slightly over $2755.00 and ounce, which would mean the scrap value of this piece would be around $2070.00. When I first purchased this bracelet I could have scraped for around half that amount. Makes you wonder what the value could be in another 20 years. Plus you get to wear it. The silk pouch that it comes in is not only new and beautiful it is made in America. For a half-century I have been mesmerized by the designs, workmanship, and beauty that have gone into the creations from the past.
