Description: This is a beautiful Victorian gift book titled "The Ninety and Nine." It contains a poem written by Elizabeth C. Clephane with designs by Robert Lewis engraved by Wm. F. Dana. At the back is the hymn written for the poetry and the music. The book was published by D.Lothrop and Company of Boston. It has fringes all around the front and back covers which have beautifully lithographed scenes and bouquets on them. There is a tribute to the author written by her brother. The book has 48 pages with sewn and glued binding. It is 7 & 3/4" by 6 & 1/2" plus the fringes. The pages are edged in gold. It has a tear at the spine that extends about 2" up from the bottom along the front edge. I have not taped it because I think it can be restored by someone more skillful than I. It is a lovely piece.
