James Cremer was active in Philadelphia during the 1850s into 1870s possibly longer as suggested in Craig’s Daguerreian Registry. He was first listed as a daguerreotypist and later as a supplier of photographic materials. His most familiar views are of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, although he also made many views of the city as well.
