It is from William Cullen Bryant's Picturesque America or The Land We Live In, 3 vol., (New York: Appleton, 1872-4). A facsimile copy of the title page is included for authenticity. It is being sold as a single sheet and is not mounted, matted or framed, basically as seen in the pic. In general, these prints represent the Romantic view that was current in the 19th century often including small figures for scale and emphasizing the sublime and grandeur of nature. Overall, a rare print with some very fine engraved line work and a beautiful design that would frame up beautifully! Size: The image area measures approximately 6 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches (16x24cm) on a 9 1/2 by 12 1/2" (24x32cm) page with a margin all around as seen in the pic. Condition: The print is in Very Good to Excellent condition for its age, printed on a buff page, with text on the reverse. It is basically as seen in the pic. Other than an ocassional speck or bump on the corner as shown in the pic, it is very clean and would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual print.
