Description: 1872 Fontainebleau Etching by E. Sadoux Paris A. Quantin, La Salle De Bal Gilt F A wonderful example of a rare 1872 etching of Fontainebleau engraved by Eugene Sadoux. The publisher of the piece is Albert Quantin of 7 rue Saint-Benot, Paris, France. The title of the piece is simply Fontainebleau La Salle De Bal or "The Ballroom". The engraving is in really nice antique condition. The visible image size in the frame is estimated at 11" wide and 9" high. Should be remounted to the mat. This is framed in a nice solid gold gilt frame that needs disassembled, cleaned and reassembled. paint losses to the gold paint. The tag on the back of the frame says Rare Original Etching of 1872 Fontainebleau by E. Sadoux, Paris 1872. The paper on the back some small tear holes. The frame measures 18 7/8" x 16 7/8" x 1 1/8" Good condition overall possible trimming as the piece has not been removed from the frame.
