In fantastic shape overall. Exterior shows gentle rubbing and soiling, and general edge wear around the extremities including a slight edge tear to the rear board and some light chipping to the spine extremes. The majority of the spine covering is present; “Battle of Dorking” written on the spine in ink. Internally, this volume is in good shape as well. Both wraps and all pages are firmly attached to the sewn binding. The text block itself shows typical age-related toning, as well as the odd spot of light soiling and minor foxing. Otherwise this volume is very clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings. Perfectly readable throughout! Illustrated with a frontispiece engraving.
