Description: 1870’s Lip Pike tintype. Troy uniform with a baseball bat. The Troy shield can be seen on his belt. Very similar to the uniform worn in the Troy team cabinet card. Maybe different pants. You can see in the Troy team image the pants appear to be darker than the Jersey. A website depicts the jerseys and pants as being white. I would debate their perception of the pants. At any rate appears to be the exact jersey. This tintype was shown to a few auction houses. I was set to sign a contract on it. The contract had no details. When I sent obviously basic follow up questions, I got stone walled. I don’t give stuff away. This has been shown to quite a few people. Very few replies. Thanks to those who did reply. I took for granted Jewish history meant something to some people. I got some pretty big stuff Jewish stuff listed. History changing. Guess that history died. Well here it is anyways. I also have a J E Pike listed that changes history. Crickets. Oh well. Tintype measures about 1 inch by 1 inch. Stains, toning, wear, scratches, creasing, emulsion and paint loss. Feel free to ask questions. The facial recognition results are posted. Tintypes usually don’t test high. Lip Pike images usually don’t test high against each other. Thanks to the incompetence of the auction houses to realize a situation, I bring you another huge one.
