It features five beautiful steel engravings and a few illustrations. Synopsis: “The Life and Times of Viscount Palmerston: embracing THE DIPLOMATIC AND DOMESTIC HISTORY OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE DURING THE LAST HALF CENTURY. By J. Ewing Ritchie, author of “Modern Statesmen,” etc.” This hardcover book has the title on the front and the edge in a gold printed emblem and measures 10-5/8” by 7-1/4” by 1” thick and has 256 pages (all measurements are taken at the widest points and are approximate). There are 5 engravings in the beginning of the book that are suitable for framing. This would make a nice addition to an antique book collection or would make a nice gift for someone who loves British history. This book has several condition issues including writing in pencil on the front and back covers. The binding is in very poor condition with page separation in places and the cover has quite a bit of wear. Also, some of the pages are stuck together at the top and some of the pages have spots of discoloration (please see all pictures). However, I don’t think this book is in that bad of condition for being almost 160 years old though! I am selling this book in AS-IS Condition for a low price, and it will be coming from a smoke-free, pet-free home.
