Keep in mind that these notes are considerably larger, about 1/3 of the size larger than modern day paper money as all the old paper money was prior to 1928. Being offered for sale: BEAUTIFUL REPRODUCTION / COPY of a $50 Confederate Note! The date is actually incomplete only showing the "18" of the 1864. We've done a little research and found that many of these notes were "generically" produced and the rest of the date was added by hand later as needed. based on this, we have to assume that this note was never actually used in circulation and might explain why the original this was created from was in such excellent condition. Unlike other reproductions, this note has the look of a circulated original with the look of all the creases, wrinkles, "muddiness", and, minor foxing, yet the these are still copies from the digitally restored templates (as pictured). These notes were reproduced from some excellent originals that have little or no look of circulation. Confederate paper money was rather cheaply produced, too, so that originals are very thin allowing the printing to "bleed" from one side to the other side. While we could have deleted that "bleed through", we decided to have it left as the historical abnormality that it is. This is a nice $50 Confederate bill for reproduction. The artwork is amazing! Cheap meaning that the paper used was very thin. This helped darker colors from the front to bleed through to the back and darker colors on the back, sometimes, to bleed through to the front. Generally, the colors from the front bled through to the back more so than back to front. We opted not to edit this out so that any side to side bleed through, if any, remains to help provide a more authentic look and to maintain this historical error. This was digitally remasted / restored, from an original 1864 Confederate $100 note. A more refreshing, inexpensive investment than a reproduction with that "crisp" new look. This might be a smart investment, too, to display the notes you love without risking loss or damage to your originals. Originals also sell for a hefty price. This note come as a complete front and back centered on an 8 1/2 X 11 inch uncut page for framing on heavier, quality paper, incorporated with cotton since it is intended for framing. You also receive one back side centered on an 8 1/2 x 11 inch uncut sheet. It would be up to you if you would like to trim the sheet. The front of the note is duly marked as "copy" as well as the back side of the note. This is not framed so you may choose the style & form you wish to mount these in.
